Gale | Cengage Publication Metadata Program Manager
Farmington Hills, MI
In my role as publication metadata program manager at Gale, I oversee the content side of our publication metadata system through standards and editorial policy as well as the implementation of publication-level metadata within our electronic products, focusing on citations, title lists, and discovery services. In addition, I am co-chair of the NISO KBART Standing Committee. I started my career with Gale in 1979, working on directories covering the electronic information industry and supporting our electronic products through standards for content conversion and document and citation display in our electronic products throughout the years. I received my B.A. in English and Anthropology ('79) and M.S.L.S. ('83) from Wayne State University. In my spare time, I am a volunteer tour guide with Preservation Detroit, sharing tidbits about local history and people and architecture. A longtime collector and researcher on all things Gone With The Wind, I enjoy sharing GWTW through presentations for libraries, historical societies, adult enrichment classes, senior groups, retirement communities, and other organizations, as well as hosting gatherings and events and compiling email alerts for my GWTW friends.
